STATE OF OHIO LEASH LAW – Enacted July 10, 1987: All dogs must be licensed and under reasonable control at all times. Furthermore, dog(s) cannot be uncontrolled on or off premises where they might attempt to bite or kill. To avoid criminal charges, dog owners need to leash, muzzle, & provide locked enclosures for all dogs that may bite or cause property damage. Written notification of a dog(s) behavior must be given prior to a dog being sold, transferred or destroyed.
